The Garden

Outdoors

While relaxing in the lounge area next to the pool under pines and cedar trees, rest your eyes on the surface of the pool, watch the sun bathe in it or enjoy the light at night illuminating the garden around the pool. Inhale basil, lavender, rosemary, laurel and pine.

The traditions of old-world Spain flourish on Casa Guillola estate, a secluded property dotted with a rainbow of colour; the reds of Spanish clay roofs, the frosty whites Catalonian walls, the cerulean waters of the swimming pool, and the bursting blooms of landscaped grounds. Surrounding the hilltop’s  location: Pyrenees mountain ranges, ancient ruins, verdant olive and almond groves, a working vineyard, and all of picturesque Emporda.

And at the estate’s feet, lies the azure Mediterranean. The estate’s elevated perch ensures magnificent panoramas of the sparkling sea, its cobalt depths reaching south to crash against the sun-splashed shores of Costa Brava coastline.

At Casa Guillola, every outdoor space pays respect to the spectacular setting. Every terrace, every corner, every lounger, every table; they all sit positioned to drink in the view. It’s understandable that you’d never want to head indoors, and the property designed to fulfil your wish: dual swimming pools, mature gardens, terraced courtyards, outdoor kitchens, and a generous scattering of sun loungers, plush seating and dining areas encourage you to spend all your time outdoors.

The villa’s garden features an enormous expanse of lawn, dotted with Mediterranean blooms and bushes a true masterpiece from one of Cadaqués greatest landscape architects. Daybeds sprinkle the view, which is undeniably spectacular, but your eyes are inextricably drawn to first the Mediterranean and then the large pool, the social centrepiece of Casa Guillola garden.

Cool water invites you to dive in for a refreshing swim in the 15×10-metre pool, surrounded by more trees, exotic plantings and a generous smattering of sun loungers. Songbirds trill from every tree and  their melodies harmonizing with the whisper of a breeze and the pool’s gently lapping waves.

A path through the garden provides easy access to the beach and the wonderful Mediterranean waters.
