All these cultures have shaped unique character and traditions. Medieval towns like Besalu or Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery are proof of this past.
This land, swept by powerful and roaring winds of the north, the Tramontana, is a source of inspiration for many artists as the eternal Salvador Dali (1904-1989). His museum, can be visited in Figueras, just 30 minutes away.
For the wine lovers, several cellers just few miles away offer wine tastings and guides tours through the property. Olive oil is also one of the traditional activities in the area and it is possible to visit the centuries old oil mills. These visits can be booked through us in Casa Guillola.

The Alt Empordà area and the Cap de Creus are ideal places to do different sports, whether you're after land-based activities such as golf, hiking, mountain races, cycling or mountain biking, or you prefer water sports, such as scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, kayaking, SUP, etc. you will find facilities and equipment within the area. Do not hesitate to talk to us, we have some equipment available for our clients.
For golf lovers, 2 first class courses (Navata and Perelada) are just few miles away. Green fees can be booked online and equipment can be hired on the premises.
Sailing boats of different sizes can be booked.

Food lovers and "gourmets" are lucky: the area offers an ample selection of restaurants and food venues from every style and category.
For those looking for a real gastronomic experience, there are several Michelin restaurants in a comfortable driving distance from the villa. Three stars awarded "Celler de Can Roca" is located in Girona city, just an hour away. Even closer is 2 star "Miramar" in Llança port, barely 15 kilometers away from Casa Guillola. Both offer gourmets menues. Booking in advance is advised!!
The sea front is garnished with lots of cafes, smalls restaurants and tapas bars for any ocassion.

Cadaques have planty of activities for all ages. The Sailing School in town offers tailored sailing courses for the youngest ones, as well as dinghy and Hobbiecats hire, snorkling...
Several atractions in Roses, just barely 15 kms away, will make the delight of the youngest ones. Aquabrava, a water park unique in its class, opens its doors from May to October. For the most daring ones, in walking distance from the park, you will find the Go Karting circuit. If you are searching for a quieter activity, you can try the minigolf.
